Wafa’a is a Lebanese/French Filmmaker, actress and dancer. She graduated from the Lebanese American University (B.A. in Communication Arts), New York Film Academy (One-Year Directing Diploma; Screenwriting Workshop) and University College London (M.A. in Film).
Wafa’a has worked extensively in the UK and Lebanon, directed 3 narrative short films and wrote a feature screenplay, Cello that won several script prizes.
In Addition to teaching film at the Lebanese American University, she also directed 6 dance films and an art installation film that premiered at international and local festivals such as Cinedans, Amsterdam and the opening of the Lebanese Film Festival, as well as international art exhibitions such as Singapore Art Stage, JABAL and Art Dubai.
As an actress, Wafa’a has been acting since the age of 5 and recently performed in 2 Lebanese feature films (by Mazen Khaled and by Celine Abiad), is performing in a feature film by Tony Farjallah as well as the lead role in a German/Lebanese co-production (avant-premiere at Berlin Film Festival 2017).
Wafa’a is also the director of the Lebanese Film Festival for its 12th edition in 2016 and 13th edition in 2018.
